Steve O’Brien grew up in Braintree, Mass. and played high school hockey at the famed Catholic Memorial (CM) winning 3 Division 1A State Championships (’93-’95). In his senior season, Steve was awarded the Boston Globe’s Division 1A Player of the Year and Hockey Night in Boston Public/Catholic player of the year. Steve received a scholarship at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) where he participated in two NCAA Frozen Fours (’98/’99). O’Brien captained the team his senior season (’99) leading them to the Hockey East Regular Season Championship and being named the leagues top defensive defenseman. Steve played 7 years professionally in North America and Europe and received his MBA from Coventry University as a Merit graduate while playing for the Coventry Blaze hockey club in the Elite League of Britain.
Steve currently works in Marketing at Demandware, an ecommerce software provider in Burlington, MA.
Julia (Delich) O’Brien grew up in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. An avid skier from an early age, Julia was first a member of the British Columbia Ski Team (’95-’97) and then the Canadian National Ski Team (’97/’98).
Julia participated in the World Junior Championships in Schladming, Austria in 1997 and was a Nor-Am winner. In 1999, Julia received a scholarship at the University of Denver where she was a 4-time Division 1 All-American, 3-time Division 1 NCAA National Champion (team), Academic All-American and NCAA postgraduate scholarship winner.
Julia is a graduate of the Yale School of Management and currently works at Cambridge Associates as an Investment Director.
Steve and Julia live with their two sons and daughter in the Boston area.
