Describe the qualities that your program is looking for in a potential student-athlete?

We are looking for dedicated student-athletes that want to succeed in life and in athletics by adhering to a discipline of studies and training throughout the entire year. The achievement in the classroom needs to be first and foremost!!! The continued practice for the love of the sport also needs to be part of the equation. In a Division I program, the Student-Athlete needs to demonstrate that they want to excel at the highest levels. The Student-Athlete needs to be committed to team goals as well as to the idea that their daily routine can help make the community, the university and the world a better place.

Could you give us an example of a current or former player who exceeded your expectations, highlighting the reasons that player excelled?

One of our Student-Athlete’s embraced this concept and fulfilled his dreams to become an All-American and League Champion while excelling in the classroom with high honors. He went from a Division III qualifying time his freshman year to All-American and Olympic Trial status his senior year. He was selected team captain by his peers as well. He did it by putting his heart and soul into these previously explained concepts.
