Describe the qualities that your program is looking for in a potential student-athlete?

I want a student-athlete with the following 4 attributes: Highly ambitious, poised at all times, highly self-sufficient, strong work-ethic. If a student-athlete possesses these 4 qualities, they will succeed in any arena.

Could you give an example of a current or former player who exceeded your expectations, highlighting the reasons that player excelled?

I was contacted by a very nice, but underdeveloped and underperforming recruit. I gave him my frank assessment that, in his current physical state, he was not close to consideration for recruitment. I also offered a number of workouts and performance goals that he might use to improve his capacity. Much to my surprise, he applied to Trinity, was admitted, and showed up this fall as a very fit, incredibly motivated walk-on. My message was very motivating and got him working very hard during his senior year. He is now a productive contributing member of the squad.
