Describe the qualities that your program is looking for in a potential student-athlete?

We look for character. That can be described as a willingness to train during the week and compete on weekends. Character also involves the desire to be a student and the expectation of good behavior. By doing the right things and avoiding the wrong ones, this type of student will find a way to succeed.

Could you give us an example of a current or former player who exceeded your expectations, highlighting the reasons that player excelled?

Competing beyond expectations has to do with two qualities:

(1) They are close to being very good

(2) They have not done it yet. This means they have ability similar to those who were superior in high school but just may have more desire in college.
