Describe the qualities that your program is looking for in a potential student-athlete?

Is interested in a major that we offer, so no undecided players or Liberal Arts. Players with specific academic goals, high test scores, self motivated and a commitment to education. Has Division 1 ability as a player, athleticism or a commitment to year round training. Has good training habits, good attitude when not playing and has played for a coach with a track record of developing and preparing D1 players especially the latter.

Could you give an example of a current or former player who exceeded your expectations, highlighting the reasons that player excelled?

A player who for three years rarely started and did not play a lot asked what she needed to do to improve in her senior year. She went away and worked at her game, did what was suggested, learned to play another role and worked with better players than her. She came back as a senior and played every minute of every game, was Player of the Year, All Conference and All Region. She always had the potential, but when she asked for advice she followed it. Most players don’t.
