Allan Freedman | Head Coach | Women’s Tennis | Johnson & Wales (Providence)

Describe the qualities that your program is looking for in a potential student-athlete?

Talent with a strong competitive spirit and team attitude: I look for talent, always striving to improve and plays with enthusiasm and just a little attitude. The student athlete should reflect a maturity that can balance excellence in the classroom and on the court.

Could you give an example of a current or former player who exceeded your expectations, highlighting the reasons that player excelled?

I have had many players fit the model as they contributed to the development of our program and were role models for our University. One of my strengths is to forecast underdeveloped talent that with fundamental coaching and student desire, observe a low seeded player progress toward a higher seed with a strong win record.
